The Spiritual Reasons Why People are Leaving the Corporate World

It’s a no-brainer that people these days are quitting their boring 9-5 jobs and to freelance or start their own business. We are also in a timeline where not only is everyone starting up their own businesses, but this is also a time where spiritual awakening is occurring in hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. We are all beginning to receive our spiritual gifts and integrating our lightwork into our business. People are choosing to grow on the path of being a lightworker to serve the planet. Although, many people overlook the fact that work should be enjoyed, it’s the thing that you will be doing for the rest of your life, so why not make it worth your while and do something that is going to make you happy? Here are a few of the biggest spiritual reasons why people are leaving the corporate world:

Spiritual Awakening is making them realize the deeper meaning of life.
What is the involvement with spiritual awakening and the corporate world? The truth is, there is none. When you become spiritually awake, you gain a much greater understanding of the world. You begin looking at life from a soul-level. You are beginning to remember the life as spirit that you’re here to live. To just be here on earth. To play and have fun. To make the world a better place. You can’t help yourself but think “what is the point of all of this?” going to work, making money, paying bills… Is this what life is really about? So you have it. People are quitting their jobs, leaving the 9-5, and some people are travelling the world. Because heck, isn’t that what life is about? Having new experiences, and seeing the world from a new perspective? All we know is that there is so much more to life than how society has structured it to be.

It’s not serving our higher purpose
When it comes to your 9-5 job, you can’t help yourself but think “how in anyway does this job benefit my higher purpose?” It doesn’t. Humans have been taught that routine is everything. We have constructed society in a way that says “you are here to work, make money, pay bills and die”. In the corporate world, you will forever be working for someone. And people are leaving because we want to make a difference. We don’t want to feel like a nobody like the corporate world makes us feel. We want to remember our lives by the lives that we’ve touched in a way that was unique for us. Not to look back and regret what we wasted our time on. After all, two of the most common things my aunt says people say on their death bed is (1) I wish I didn’t work so hard, and (2) I wish I left my job to chase my dreams. And why are we leaving the corporate world? To avoid living a life that isn’t nourishing for our soul. What is the point on staying at a job that doesn’t fulfill you emotionally, mentally and spiritually?

Our impact on helping the planet is close to zero
A huge part of the reason why people are quitting their corporate jobs is because they feel like they aren’t making an impact on the world. This is a major problem. People are tired of working so hard to achieve something that in the end has no impact. You have to do meaningless work because it’s a part of the manual. Let’s say for example you’re working very hard on a project for the corporation you work for, and then your boss tells you that they need to cancel the project because of budget issues. After all that hard work you put in, you feel angry and not valued like it was worth nothing and you are right. After all, if you work in a large corporation, you are just a number to them. You are merely a tiny unnoticeable creature that has no say in the way things operate. It’s truly a dehumanizing experience as nobody really cares about you beyond what little value you bring to the company. Your voice is practically unheard because everyone around you feels like they knew better and they don’t give you a chance to voice your opinion.

We feel as if we are selling our life away
The constant need to wake up early mornings and work late hours will absolutely deflate you in no time. With these ridiculous hours, you will feel as if you’ve thrown away a good 10 years to something you can’t say you felt genuinely excited about. You are practically giving your time and energy into working to make someone else’s dream come true. But what about your dream? Many of us can get in a trap and be inspired by our managers to sit back and act as if our future is secure. If you want to be independent, you must follow your dreams, and attempt to build your own company with your own clients. In a start-up, highly driven and motivated individuals surround you because this is the life that they chose and many times there is no turning back. If you want to motivate yourself, you should surround yourself with like-minded individuals who are just as motivated as you are, this will ensure to keep you on your toes and always striving for the best.
